Articling Students
Daniel Flatt
Daniel joined Gardiner Roberts in August 2007 as an articling student after graduating from law school at the University of Western Ontario and an HBSc in Physics and English from the University of Toronto. Daniel’s previous work experience includes an internship with an international petroleum exploration company where he developed an interest in resource markets and international business law.

Geneviève Le Comte
Geneviève was called to the Quebec Bar in 2006 and subsequently worked as in-house counsel for a TSX listed global technologies company headquartered in Montreal.
Geneviève has two Bachelors of Laws, one from the Université de Sherbrooke in Civil Law (2003) and one from Queen’s University in Common Law (2005).
She complemented her legal studies on two occasions by studying overseas; first studying European law at Université de Montpellier II (Montpellier, France) and second studying International Law in Sussex, England. Genevieve is bilingual in English and French.

Daniel Steinberg
Daniel joined Gardiner Roberts this year as an articling student after completing law school at the University of Ottawa as well as his bachelor degree at Huron University College at the University of Western Ontario. While pursuing his law degree, Daniel took the opportunity to complement his legal education by studying overseas at Lund University in Sweden, where he focused on international and comparative law. Daniel has a diverse law-related employment background, having worked in various capacities in the areas of real estate litigation, business law and internet and e-commerce law. He also previously owned and operated his own web development business.

Alisha Watts
Alisha joined Gardiner Roberts as an articling student in August 2007 after graduating from the University of Ottawa with degrees in Civil Law and Common Law. While attending law school, she spent a year studying French Civil Law in Paris, at l’Université Panthéon-Assas. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) from Queen’s University; during this degree, she spent time as an exchange student in India, at the University of Pune. Alisha has interests in private equity and international business law.

Summer Students
Michelle Fernandez
Michelle graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with an HBSc in Human Biology. During her studies she worked extensively at Saint Michael’s Hospital where she participated in research on stem cell therapeutics. She is currently enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario, and is focusing on Litigation and Intellectual Property Law. Michelle is an accomplished mooter and was chosen to represent Western at the national Wilson Moot on equality.

Queenie Lo
Queenie will be joining Gardiner Roberts in May 2008 as a summer student. Queenie completed her combined Honours B.A. in political science and communication studies at Wilfrid Laurier University where she focused in international relations. She currently attends law school at the University of Western Ontario where she is a probono leader for various groups and continues her research work at the London Middlesex Country Courthouse. Peter Luciano
Peter will be summering with the firm in 2008. Having completed a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), Peter is now attending Osgoode Hall Law School with a focus on Corporate and Real Estate Law. Peter has a diverse background as a small business owner, musician and actor. He has toured Canada and Germany with his band, received a Genie Award for his songwriting and was a principal actor in the Emmy Nominated Disney Movie “The Music Man” starring Mathew Broderick.
Evelyn Spence
Evelyn will be joining Gardiner Roberts as a summer student for the 2008 work term. She is currently attending Dalhousie law school, where she is specializing in the area of health law and policy analysis and serves as an executive member of the Health Law Students Association as well as the school’s Arts and Culture Society. Evelyn holds a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy from Queen’s University, and while completing this degree, spent time studying Development Ethics at the University of Havana. Evelyn is fluent in French and Spanish, and recently has spent time traveling throughout South America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
