Current Students
Evelyn Spence
Evelyn summered at Gardiner Roberts in 2008 and returned to article at the firm after graduating from Dalhousie Law School, where she specialized in the area of health law and policy analysis. Evelyn has served as an executive member of the Health Law Students Association and has also been involved in the Arts and Culture Society and Community Outreach programs at Dalhousie. She holds an Honours B.A. in philosophy from Queen’s University, and has spent time studying Development Ethics at the University of Havana. Prior to pursuing her legal education, Evelyn took a year off to travel throughout South America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Michelle Fernandez
Michelle summered with Gardiner Roberts in 2008 and returned to article with the firm after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario where she specialized in intellectual property law. Michelle is particularly interested in the areas of health informatics law and privacy policy in healthcare and is completing an individual research project in the area. She is also an accomplished mooter and was chosen to represent Western at the national Wilson Moot on equality. Michelle graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with an Hon. BSc in Human Biology. During her studies she researched extensively in the area of stem cell therapeutics.

Queenie Lo
Queenie summered with Gardiner Roberts in 2008 and returned to article at the firm after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario. At Western, Queenie was the chair of the Convocation Committee, an Associate Caseworker with the Community Legal Services, a member of the Elections Committee, Business and Insolvency Group, and Pro Bono Students Canada. Queenie also sits on the Board of Directors and is the Co-Chair of the Student Committee for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, a non-profit organization that serves to promote equity, justice and opportunity for Asian Canadian legal professionals and the community. Prior to law school, she attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she obtained a Hon. B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies. While at WLU, Queenie achieved Dean’s list standing and was awarded a number of scholarships including the Tiger Brand Knitting Company Scholarship for academic excellence and community involvement. In the summer of 2007, Queenie interned at the London Middlesex County Courthouse where she designed and implemented a study that documents the range of government and non-government services and supports that are available to self-represented litigants in Southwestern Ontario. Queenie plays the piano, baritone and violin. She also enjoys hot yoga, politics, film and reading.

Peter Luciano
Peter summered at Gardiner Roberts in 2008 and returned to the firm after graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School where he focused on Corporate and Real Estate Law. Prior to law school, Peter completed a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). Peter has a diverse background as a small business owner, musician and actor. He has toured Canada and Germany with his band, received a Genie Award for his songwriting and was a principal actor in the Emmy Nominated Disney Movie “The Music Man” starring Mathew Broderick.

BEHROUZ AMOUZGAR
Behrouz joined Gardiner Roberts as a summer student in 2009. He will be returning to article with the firm in 2010 – 2011. He is currently the Vice President of the class of 2010 at Queen's Law School and is also the co-editor in chief of the New Queen's Counsel, the student-run publication of Queen's Law. Behrouz also volunteers his time as the Social Convener of the Iranian Student Association of Queen's University and is fluent in Farsi. He graduated with honours from York University, where he majored in Computer Science. His hobbies include playing the guitar and sightseeing. He has traveled across Europe and the Middle East and enjoys meeting people of different backgrounds and cultures. Feel free to contact him during the school year at 7ba@queensu.ca.
NATHALIE FREIMAN
Nathalie joined Gardiner Roberts as a summer student in 2009. She will be returning to article with the firm in 2010 – 2011, after completing her second year at the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario. Nathalie has competed in several moots and has been selected to represent Western at the nation-wide Wilson Moot competition. As an undergraduate she obtained an Honours in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Nathalie speaks Hebrew and French, and enjoys traveling abroad. SARAH PETERSEN
Sarah joined Gardiner Roberts as a summer student in 2009. She will be returning to article with the firm in 2010 – 2011. She currently attends the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor and is focusing on dispute resolution. Sarah is the Constitutional Law teaching assistant for first-year law students and has previously volunteered at the University of Windsor's Community Legal Aid. She obtained her Honours B.A. at the University of Guelph in political science and sociology, focusing on the judicial system, public policy and social justice. During her undergraduate studies, Sarah was actively involved in the student body and volunteered at Guelph's Legal Resource Room. You can contact her at spetersen0@gmail.com.
TERRY REID
Terry joined Gardiner Roberts as a summer student in 2009. He will be returning to article with the firm in 2010 – 2011. He is currently completing his LL.B. at the University of Windsor. He graduated with an Honours B.A. and M.A. in Political Science, with a focus on the privatization of essential government services. Terry has interned with the U.S. governmental department of Small Business Administration, and has worked in several locations across Canada and abroad as an Intelligence Officer with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves.
